Black Desert Online is one of the most in-depth games

When examining the last decade of massively multiplayer online role-playing games, a certain structure comes to mind. For possibly hundreds of hours, quests drive a linear progression. Loot is joyously discovered and then casually discarded. And dungeons and eventual raids cap the experience. Even combat between games has become somewhat routine. MMOs thrive on quest density, and suffer due to how repetitive the game has to be to manage this. Mobs of enemies fill the map and these games start to become stale when you’ve killed the same cluster of bears in several different areas.

It’s a persistent problem that eventually crops up with any game of its kind. The solutions I’ve found are twofold—either make fighting the enemies more dynamic and involved (such as Tera attempted to do, to the detriment of everything else), or give a lot of other things to do (Guild Wars 2, where you have a wide variety of actions you can perform as well as combat). Black Desert Online seems to do both, but takes it to an extreme that we haven’t seen since the earliest days of MMOs.

Black Desert isn’t spent to level your character or improve black desert daum account skills but is instead used in a variety of Black Desert Online’s lengthy side content. If you want to buy a house in BDO, Contribution points are used to do it, for instance. Likewise for renting items from NPCs – as such it’s actually a vital resource, but not necessarily something many players will benefit from grinding, especially early on. The answer, at least for Black Desert Online, is surprisingly well. For all intents and purposes, Black Desert Online is one of the most in-depth and intuitive entries into the genre in a long time.

The game is visually appealing, has incredibly complex crafting and social systems, and has some of the best content ever seen in a MMO. Unfortunately, however, there is a glaring issue at the center of the title that is impossible to ignore, the kind that takes a great game and makes it merely very good instead. An important thing to note about Monster Knowledge Ranks is that they do not change once they have been rewarded. If you get lumbered with a C-rank there is a way to remedy this.

Visit the Calpheon Library and find the NPC Annolisa Rosie. She’ll allow you to reset your knowledge of any particular monster in the game for 10 energy, allowing you to then go off and fight them again to try for another rank. It’s worth noting that bosses do not have ranks, so you need not worry about them. In a twist, there’s also ways to invest contribution in the game for other less-immediate benefits.

Opening the world map allows you to put contribution ‘into’ a node, which uses up that EXP but will increase drop rates in that area. How to Get Black Desert . That’s not to suggest tradition is bad or boring, far from it, but when something different comes along it stands out all the more against a sea of familiarity. Pearl Abyss’ Black Desert Online is one such newcomer, a buy-to-play sandbox MMO of impressive scale, and one that’s black desert daum cash left me thoroughly engaged by its independence from the expected format.
