There are things that cannot be missed year after year: holidays, the League, superhero movies, internet debates, YouTube counts, Christmas … and the new FIFA. The game that everyone argues is “the same but with a different number” and still manages to sell more than 15 million copies, which means one thing: there are fewer players confessing that they play it than it seems.
However, thanks to several leaks, we actually know a few things about it already. That’s why we’ve put together this handy guide on FIFA 22 based on what we know so far.
The fact that FIFA 22 for the old generation consoles will be a truncated version was to be expected. Although it should be clearly stated that this is not the most demanding game and certainly PS4 and Xbox One would cope with the next installment. It is surprising, however, that EA wants to introduce new products only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S | X. Those who wanted to play the latest game in the series on PC will have to be content only with refreshing the lineups.
Who will be on the cover of FIFA 22?
Should EA prefer to continue to offer a young and dynamic striker as a sales argument, 3rd place in the survey is clearly an option. Borussia Dortmund’s natural force Erling Haaland can be found there with 18 percent of the votes. The 20-year-old has scored a whopping 40 goals in 43 Bundesliga games so far and his appearance has generated enthusiasm – not only among BVB fans.
Nor has anything been revealed about it, even though, by now, it should be more than agreed who will be the face of the game for this year. Some names that sound strong to be on the cover are Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich), Christian Pulisic (Chelsea) and even there is talk of the glorious return of Lionel Messi.Nor has anything been revealed about it, even though, by now, it should be more than agreed who will be the face of the game for this year. FIFA 22 release date
We haven’t yet heard a confirmed release date – that’s likely to be announced at EA Play Live – but we can take an educated guess.
Our estimate, therefore, is that FIFA 22 will be released on 30 September or 8 October 2021. Both match traditional release dates for the series.
FIFA 22 will also feature several tools to facilitate the analysis of matches. First of all, we will be able to check the heat maps of our players, which will allow us to assess their positioning during the match. Secondly, the popular xG statistic, i.e. Expected goals, will be added to the game. It allows to estimate how many goals the team should score from all created situations.
